Copilot 365 Fundamentals is a six-hour, in-person course designed specifically for businesses already using Microsoft 365. You have got the tool. This day is about learning how to use it properly.
It draws directly on the Techosaurus Generative AI Skills Bootcamp, which ran last year across the South West and was delivered to over 150 businesses. The best of that programme has been distilled into a single, practical day, built entirely around Copilot and the Microsoft 365 environment your team already works in.
The course covers what AI is, how it works, and how to get real results from Copilot using a clear prompting framework. You will see it in action across the tools you use every day, work through genuine business tasks with guidance, and leave with a personalised prompting tool you can use the next morning.
There are no prerequisites and no jargon. Whether you have barely opened Copilot or you have tried it and were not sure what to do with it, this course is designed to take you somewhere useful.
How the day is structured
Build the mental model
We start by giving AI a shape. You will get a plain-English explanation of what AI actually is, how it processes what you give it, and where it is genuinely useful.
Then we move into the ROAR prompting framework, the five prompt techniques, and the three rules that determine whether Copilot gives you something good or something frustrating. This is not theory for the sake of it. It is the foundation everything else builds on.
Get oriented and see what's possible
Before any demos or hands-on work, we do a full orientation of Copilot for 365 together. Microsoft has put the Copilot name on a lot of products, which creates genuine confusion about which version you are actually in.
We will walk through how to verify you are in the right place, what is covered under your M365 subscription, how Basic and Premium differ, and how to set up Custom Instructions so Copilot works the way you work from day one.
Do the actual work
The second half of the day is practical. You will work through a series of real business tasks in Copilot, guided throughout.
The tasks are drawn directly from the kinds of things most business owners and teams deal with every week, and they are all done inside the tools you already have. You will leave having done the work, not just heard about it.
What you will learn
A full orientation of Copilot for 365
How to verify you are in the business version, not the consumer one
What is included in your M365 subscription versus what requires a paid upgrade
How Basic and Premium differ and what that means in practice
How to set up Custom Instructions so Copilot knows how you work before you have typed a word
How to navigate the interface and get the most from day one
Prompting that actually makes sense
The ROAR framework: Role, Objective, Appearance, Restrictions
The five prompting techniques that cover most business use cases
The three rules of AI that experienced users apply without thinking
How to read a Copilot output and know whether it is worth using or needs another pass
Practical, hands-on experience in Copilot
The hands-on tasks are designed to mirror your working day, using the Microsoft 365 tools you already have open. You will come away with real outputs, real prompts, and a clear sense of where Copilot fits into how you already work.
We keep the specifics as a surprise. The best learning tends to happen when you are not expecting it.
A clear view of the Copilot landscape
Microsoft's Copilot offering spans several tiers and products, and it can be hard to know what you have got and what costs more. We will give you an honest, straightforward overview of what is included in your subscription, what the paid-for features add, and where the boundaries are.
No sales pitch. Just clarity.
Your prompting tool: built during the day, yours to keep
A place to keep what you have learned
One of the things people consistently miss after a training session is somewhere to save what they have learned. The Techosaurus prompting tool is designed to fix that.
You will be introduced to it early in the day, use it for the hands-on tasks, and leave with it pre-loaded with prompts for every task covered during the session. It is shareable too, so if you work in a team, you can get everyone starting from the same foundation inside the tools you already use.
This is about making sure the learning sticks rather than fading the moment you are back at your desk.

Talking to AI is a communication skill, not a tech skill
It is fast becoming a new modern soft skill that everyone requires. The people getting the most from it are not the most technical ones. They are the curious ones who know how to explain what they need, check what comes back, and build it into how they already work. This course is designed to give you that foundation inside the tools your business already runs on.
